Victorian house refurbishment and extension - why move when you can extend?
A 6 metre long extension to a Victorian terrace house to provide an open plan light and airy living space that opens out onto the garden. The layout of the site meant a few conversation with the local planning authority to assess the optimum solution. This is where architects can help provide creative solutions, but also save on potential cost and time overruns. The extension is large relative to the existing house footprint, but the height of the space and the high glazing creates increased connection with the garden. So although the garden is reduced, it appears larger and more usable! The interior space effectively doubled, as well as made more efficient, with new storage areas, cloakroom and hidden utility area
